“John Strough, age 66, is a Democrat but last year he also circulated petitions to run on the Conservative Party primary. To do that, he needed to circulate petitions and he needed a witness or notary public present at the time his petitions were signed by eligible Conservative Party members. State police now say Strough and his wife Chistianne, who is a notary, didn’t follow those rules and later lied about it.
